Q: How do you reduce the calories by almost half from traditional peanut butter?
A: By adding ripened fruit or vegetables to our homemade peanut butter we bring the calories down by about half and bring you the benefit of additional nutrients. We then add some of nature’s healthiest sweeteners like honey, agave nectar and maple.
Q: Why is Better Butter a refrigerated product?
A: In order to make this a shelf-stable product we would need to add the ingredients that we try to avoid when grocery shopping. Better Butter is made with fresh ingredients and needs to be refrigerated. We use 9oz containers so you can eat it within the 4-8 weeks when it tastes best (Honey Nut Banana – 30 days, Nutty Chocolate Chip – 60 days, Maple Pumpkin – 21 days).
Q: How do I use Better Butter?
A: Use Better Butter just like you would peanut butter or any spread. Spread it on toast, waffles, or crackers, make sandwiches, use as a dip with fruit or celery, or just eat by the spoonful.
Q: What are the different flavors you sell?
A: OurĀ flavors include Honey Nut Banana, Nutty Chocolate Chip and Cinnamon Raisin. We also offer seasonal flavors, like the Maple Pumpkin. Learn more on Our Products page.
Q: Where do you make your product?
A: We rent a commercial kitchen space from Greensgrow Farms – Kensington Kitchen Share.
Q: Where do you source your ingredients and materials?
A: We are big advocates of all things natural and local and those two factors determine where we source. Where we can use local ingredients, we do. Our honey comes from Two Gander Farms in Berks County. They make honey in small batches, just like we make our peanut butter spreads in small batches, so it’s a good match. We purchase our peanuts, jars, and other ingredients from businesses located in Pennsylvania in order to support our state’s economy.
